Summary:

Complex problems require integrated solutions that are discovered, tested, and implemented by interdisciplinary teams of scholars. This is also true for disciplines considered essential to the human capital development mission of Colleges of Agriculture in the USA. Academic departments charged with this mission include the disciplines of agricultural communications, economics, extension, leadership, and teacher education. Preparing human capital to communicate, educate, lead, and study the myriad of socio-cultural-economic behaviors of agriculturalists is essential to ensuring a nation's food security and future prosperity. How these disciplines function and interrelate would be examined with special implications for the University of Ségou.
