Mali Symposium on Applied Sciences

Bamako, July 8 - 12, 2002

Announcement:

The second international symposium on applied sciences will be held at the university of Mali from Monday 8 to Friday 12, July 2002. The conference will be open to researchers in industry and in the academy and will enable engineers and scientists to present the findings of their research. The subject of the conference will be applied sciences in a broad sense.

Scientific topics :

The symposium will cover four events: Plenary sessions, mini-symposiums (organized by scientific disciplines), tutorials, and workshop sessions.

Lodging : Hotels and guest rooms will be made available in the area where MSAS 2002 will take place.

Abstract and Scientific Program : Participants should send (by e-mail or by air mail) an abstract of their paper by indicating the title of the communication, the complete address of the corresponding author (name, mailing address, fax, telephone and E-mail), keywords and scientific subject to the address below. The summary (which should not exceed one page) has to clearly and concisely explain the approach and the results of the research, and present a compelling case since it forms the basis for the acceptance or rejection of the paper. The Accepted Authors will receive instructions for the submission of their Complete Paper and a Final Summary of 300 words. These Summaries will be published (in an abstract booklet) and available at the meeting. The deadline for the submission of abstracts is on January 15, 2002. An announcement of acceptance/rejection will be sent on February 15, 2002. The scientific committee will evaluate all submitted abstracts and decide which ones will be given as oral presentations or presented as posters. Each day will start with a lecture from a member of the scientific committee or a world-class plenary speaker invited by the scientific committee. Proceedings including all abstracts and full texts will be published.

Registration fees : The registration fee of US $20 for participants from Africa and US $40 for participants from other areas will include an abstract booklet and the full symposium proceedings. Students submitting verification shall pay half-price.

Deadlines :

  1. January 15, 2002 : submission of abstracts
  2. February 15, 2002 : notifications of acceptance to authors
  3. May 15, 2002 : final full version of the accepted papers
